Both 1x7 Strand and 7x7 Cable Constructions-

Differences:

1x7 Strand-

• Classified as strand, meaning the product has two or more wires wrapped around a core. With 1x7 strand, the product has one straight center with six wires wrapped around each
• Not very flexible
• High stretch resistance
• As 1x7 strand is constructed from a single strand it has a lower breaking strength than multiple strand cable constructions
• Lighter product weight than cable constructions
• Often used in guying applications in various environments
• Good for straight line push-pull application
• Basic strand for all concentric cable

7x7 Cable-

• Classified as cable, meaning the product is a wrapped group of strands. 7x7 cable has seven straight center wires with six wires wrapped around each
• Fairly flexible
• More flexible than 1x7 strand
• As 7x7 cable is constructed from multiple strands it has a higher breaking strength than single strand constructions
• Heavier product than strand constructions
• Commonly used in auto and aircraft controls
• Performs well in mechanical applications
