An RV Maintenance Guide

Here at Sanlo, we are committed to helping our customers protect the longevity of their RV. In today’s blog we will look at some key maintenance tips that will ensure your RV has a long life. Continue reading to learn about our maintenance tips!

  1. Clean and Dry Your Awning:

When you put your awning out on your RV you will often get bugs and debris on the cloth that will need to be cleaned. You should clean your awning thoroughly, but most importantly you must dry the cloth before packing it away. If you do not dry the awning, you will get mold due to the dampness and severely damage the cloth.

  1. Test Safety Equipment:

Fire alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and fire extinguishers are key to the safety of you and your RV. However, these safety preventative tools are useless if not properly maintained. Regularly check the batteries in your alarms to help ensure you will be protected from an emergency.

  1. Keep Brakes Maintained:

Brakes are one of the most essential components of your RV and you must keep them properly maintained to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Before setting off on a long trip, you should ensure your wheel bearing are lubricated and that your brake fluid has been topped off. Without these steps, you will be running the risk of causing an accident and worse, injury to yourself or another person on the road.
